New exhibition exploring the relationship between mortality and humanity’s strongest emotions through paintings, neon, drawing, sculptures and prints from the world’s most pioneering artist

Renowned for its love of dark, exploratory and thought-provoking art, Leontia Gallery’s highly anticipated exhibition ‘Love to Death’ certainly lives up to the reputation. The multi-disciplinary collection will explore these subjects through paintings, neon, drawing, sculptures and prints by innovative and original talent from the UK and world wide. 

Each artist has been selected for ‘Love to Death’ as they bring something distinctive and unique to the exhibition, with intriguing and insightful explorations of the notions of human emotion and mortality, and the lightness and darkness in each of them.  

Leontia Reilly, owner and curator of Leontia Gallery said: "If there are two subjects that artists, and of course the whole the human race, obsess over it’s love and death. The new exhibition aims to explore the fixation with these themes and the associated ambiguous connotations. Each piece brings something distinctive to the exhibition both in technique and concept.”

The Leontia Gallery presents THERE AND NOW, a new exhibition exploring the present and the past in paintings, neon, drawing, sculptures and prints from the world’s most pioneering artists;


The highly anticipated exhibition will feature original works from Nina Fowler, a favourite amongst art collectors. Nina has received prestigious nominations for the Young Masters award and The Aesthetica Art Prize.


Additional exhibition highlights include:

o   Internationally acclaimed Alabama-based artist Butch Anthony 

o   Hotly tipped as the UK’s next big artist, Lauren Baker ,  Lauren’s work has been shown at the V&A and The Tate Modern in London.

o   London based artist Rosie Emerson works almost exclusively on representing the female form. 

o   2014 winner of The CASS ART Jean-Luc Almond creates thought provoking paintings inspired by historical figures in his inimitable painterly style.

o   Emerging artist Jesus Leguizamo is from Colombia and his evocative paintings have won him prestigious awards throughout South America. 

o   London emerging artist Sara Ley Roy’s work focuses on storytelling fairy tales and folklore. 

CONSUME

This highly anticipated exhibition will feature original works created by a new wave of pioneering urban artists from across the globe.

Leontia Gallery is proud to be showcasing the latest work of homegrown British talent Schoony, who is considered a leader in the new direction of urban art.

Schoony’s life cast sculptures have won him a loyal fan following including superstars Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Damon Albarn, as well as art critics and collectors from around the world.


The theme “Consume” has been explored in its broadest sense, artist inspirations range from media consumerism as seen in Juan Barletta’s “Miley” piece to the complete consummation or expenditure of human life as seen in Magnus Gjoen skull light boxes “Mr and Mrs”.

FLESH

The first exhibition of a highly edited selection of contemporary art, from an international group of the most highly anticipated young artists. Titled Flesh, this exhibition is visceral, demanding, sensual and dark. Artworks will explore our experience of being a body and our complex relationship with our own flesh, whilst also unlocking themes of alienation, fantasies, desire and destruction.
